The Dewalts toolbox is an iconic piece of American design.
Introduced in the early 1900s, the Dewalt toolbox was a staple in the kitchen.
Its design inspired many popular products, such as the Popsicle Stick and the Tootsie Roll.
In 2017, the company went through a significant reorganization, relocating to Canada.
As a result, the Toolbox will be re-branded as Dewalt, the brand name of the company that made it.
The Toolbox has remained in Canada since, and is the only toolbox in the world that still contains all the tools, including a microwave.
(CBC) “I was so excited to get this toolbox, and the toolbox that I have it is still here, it’s just a completely different one,” says Kristy McBride, a product manager for the Dewalted Co-op.
“I love it so much, because I think the tool box is the most iconic piece on the world.”
McBride and her husband, Greg, had been working for the company since 2010.
Greg is now in his 80s and works in retailing, while Kristy was a retail assistant.
“It’s very difficult to keep a shop open for a couple of years, and I think this is the first time in my life that I was able to actually do that,” she says.
“When I was working there, I always felt like if I did something, I’d feel like it was my fault.
I didn’t have a choice.
But now I do.”
